Chef Jima is known for her bold flavors and sassy personality to say the least. She grew up in a home with deep southern roots. This is where, at an early age, she learned that the quality of food was essential to great living and great company. As a child, she watched her relatives prepare mouthwatering meals from scratch. The kitchen at the Woods house was a plethora of enchanting smells that conjured thoughts of the south.Â
Beginning her professional career as a Corrections Officer. Chef Jima gave up her lucrative job to pursue her passion for food and cooking to enter the culinary industry. Her classical training included studying at the Culinary Academy in New York City, and studying several cuisines including Italian, Mediterranean and of course, a little Southern Soul.Â
Recognizing her yearning to be the boss, she paired her love for cooking and entertaining and Jima decided to follow in her family’s footsteps and marry food, people and conversation. In 2000, she began her business – Pink Diva Catering.Â
Jima’s cooking style is described as playful and modern. Blending her Southern roots with other cuisines, she is frequently called upon to prepare her inventive Southern Fusion dishes. Chef Jima describes her flavor profile as Southern Peach meets Urban Streets! She caterers to audiences by showcasing how to party and cook in style
