I cannot afford to pay the Black Tax

As the new year begins many of us will sit down and Create a list of promises to ourselves. we call them yearly goals. These are Goals we will set out to accomplish for the next 30 days And then quit. 2020 was a year for the ages. We faced a world wide pandemic, and So far survived the affects on our society. We had a racially charged election for the Presidency of the United states. The two Dominate political parties are guilty of using Race as a fear tactic and forever changed the views of a lot of Americans about our political process., we lost loved Ones some to corvid and street violence.

2021 is a important year. As I sit to plan out my year I have come to a realization. “I must do better this year”. Last year I was given a book to read called the Black Tax by Shawn D Rochester. This is a book about the Black Experience in America, and how Systems has been put in place to make it difficult for African Americans to succeed in America. The book affected me in a way similar to how the book called alchemist affected me. I actually saw the words from the book being demonstrated in real life around me. And I did not like what I saw.

The meaning for the term Black Tax In the U.S. describes the racial dimensions that perpetuate a cycle of inequality such as lower pay and a lower standard of education.

2021 will be a defining year for me. I will reach levels of success I have dreamed about because I will not allow the Black tax to affect me. you might ask how will I achieve this?
