Meaning of The Color Black. ... Black is associated with power, fear, mystery, strength, authority, elegance, formality, death, evil, and aggression, authority, rebellion, and sophistication. Black is required for all other colors to have depth and variation of hue. The black color is the absence of color.
There are many who do not want to be recognized as a Black man or woman. Many argue that we are not that color so why be classified as Black. I posted the meaning of Black, because it defines our History here in the Americas. Blackness is a culmination of the experiences of our ancestors in the Americas. I feel the Meaning of the word Black describe us to a T. It is the Power, of Black wealth that spurred white men and women to Burn down a very affluent and commercially successful Black town in greenwood Tulsa Oklahoma. Hundreds of Black Citizens were Killed, and Black Businesses destroyed. Planes was used to drop make shift bombs on Homes of Blacks No one has been held accountable to this day. The year was 1921. on September 22 1906, In Atlanta Georgia the fear of Blackness and The Evil and aggression of White men, caused white mobs for two days attacked and killed unsuspected Black citizens. Black Men, Women, and children. Blacks were hung from lamp posts, Some was Shot. The Governor Joseph Terrell sent in the national Guard who was suppose to bring order. Witness reports the military joined in with local law enforcement in attacking Blacks. From 1940's and through out the 1960's Black Authority began to rise. Black veterans who served in World war 2, and during the Korean conflict came back to the American south to Dismantle white supremacy. in 1946 a 21 year old named Medgar Evers, his brother Charles, and four others went to the court house in Decatur Mississippi to vote. The six had been the first Blacks since reconstruction to attempt to vote in Decatur. When the six arrived they were met by fifteen armed White men to prevent them from registering to vote. Medgar and the other Men went home and Got their Guns prepared to Fight for what they believed to be the Right. When they returned the mob had gotten bigger, No one registered to vote nor was their a Gun fight that day, but the gauntlet had been laid down. Medgar Evers would go on to become a important figure in the Black Civil Right fight. Medgar Evers was assassinated on June 12, 1963 by a assassin bullet. 1960's was the Golden age of the Black Civil Rights movement. Black leaders such as Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther king, Stokely Carmichael, The Black panther party, and many others Spoke of Black independence, They spoke of Black pride, and they also Promoted Standing up for ourselves, which bring me to Rebellion. The 1960's was the Golden Age of the Black civil Rights movement but it also showed America that after decades economic, educational, and Police oppression American cities will explode in the Riots. From Harlem NYc, Watts California, Detroit Michigan, and Newark NJ. Blacks in Inner cities fought back against Police brutality, and Racial oppression. The 1970's brought Black sophistication to the forefront. Black actors and Actresses Changed the Narrative on the big screen. Actresses such as Diane Carol, Ruby Dee, and the timeless Cicly Tyson graced the big screen. Songstress Diana Ross raised the bar, Shirley Chisolm blazed a trail for other Black women to get into politics. Black is a Culture we created and That we alone Own. However, Today we do not recognize this. Hip hop has Conquered the Globe. The creation of Dj from the Bronx in the 1970. The music has manifested it self a hundred times over. It is not uncommon today to see The Black influence on everything from popular slang being uttered by white Europeans, Asian Break dancers, European pop stars saying the word "Nigger" in their lyrics. and there is no outrage from the creators of the Black culture. You see Black is required for all other colors to have depth and variation of hue. We are the reason for the Americas greatness, from the Slaves of the south, to the Harlem hell-fighters, all the way to the last great President a Black man named Barrack Obama. History and current events has shown us that White America will always discredit our contribution to America greatness. Trump has shown you they do not know what they are doing. White America Know what the true meaning of Black, Do you?
