THIS IS WHY I VOTE! (true story)
Everyone, This is my grandfather
He was Born in 1900
The son of a free slave
Whose grandfather was a slave
Born in the OLD SOUTH
where He had to walk
a certain way
Everyday just to live
With tears in his eyes
because he had
No rights to exercise
And was told to shut
His mouth to his core
Where White folks said
Respect was when given only when
Blackmen looked to the floor
When they called you
Nigger for being,
and Boy
Because they refuse to
See the man in you
Uppity Niggers
Is what they called you
If you spoke up right when
Whites was always uptight
And wouldnt let you
Fight out of fright
For you to
Utilize your rights
When they said
All men were
created equal
Didnt mean
Black people, and
You niggers
Need to know
your place!!
He had to walk into
Segregated bathrooms
And sandwich shops
And was told
To go to the back
Of the bus
He saw blackmen
and
women lynched
For the fight
For equal rights
Silent marches
And people removed
From sight
Never to be seen again
All because
They wanted to vote.
He couldnt vote
For the 1st time
Until 1965
Imagine waiting
65 long years
Just to be able
To do the shit
Everyone of you
Take advantage of
Every fuckin day
This picture
is my Grandfather.
His name was
Charles Robinson.
The son of a freed slave
And grandson of a slave
Who only lived
Long enough to
Vote for 5 presidents
when even his
mother and father
Couldnt
Do nothing more ...
Except stay in thier place.
Because
white people
Wouldnt let
black people vote when
Segregation
blanketed
The nation
And all he wanted to do
WAS VOTE!
What would you today
Do if they
Took your "rights"
and told you what
To do what they told you
And made you
"Stay in your place"
For 65 years
White people said
You Uppity Niggers
Better not try to vote!
55 years later....
Dont worry Mr. Colonizer
A lot of them wont!
Because Ignorance is
the best Deterrent !
But Your Grandson
Ain't Built like that Grandpa,
I WILL VOTE
BECAUSE YOU COULDNT!!
Written and Signed with Love,
Honor & Respect
By your
Uppity Nigger
Militant Grandson,
John Jr.
